and Introductions

from the March 20, 2008, FOL meeting were approved. All FOL meeting minutes are posted on the
website.
Treasurer
Report
Francs
gave the Treasurer Report. We have $1,521.47
in our account. We have a few outstanding bills, but they are
small.
Programs
a.
Earth Day Celebration - Earth Day is April 26 from 2pm
to 4 pm. Girl Scouts may help coordinate Kid’s Earth
Day Project. We will have informational tables. Kathy has
some promotional items to hand out.
b.
Lake
Travis Reads (LTR) – www.laketravisreads.org
is the website. Kick off is May 15, 2008. Live
entertainment at 6:30. Announcement at 7 pm.
c.
Book donation project – Box has been sent to Jamaican
school.
d.
Bee
Cave History Project –
Debbie and Sandra are working on this project with Elaine and Jim Perkins. This
project goes beyond the scope of the Friends group, but Debbie and Sandra will
continue to support it. They are trying to schedule meetings with
Adam Wooley with Star Ranch on Hamilton Pool Road and a professor at UT
(through Angela).
New
Business
a.
Summer Party – Discussed June 20, 2008 as a possible
date. Debbie will contact Ron Yates from Spicewood
Vineyards to discuss their facilities for this party or future parties.
b.
The Friends group voted to not participate in the Lakeway July 4th parade.
c.
Kathy requested everyone attend May’s Friends meeting
to discuss the schedule for future meetings and election of officers.
d.
Fish
City Grill is donating
10% of revenue from the first Tuesday of each month to a charitable
organization and we will apply to designate the Friends group for an upcoming
Tuesday.
e.
The FOL group has been linked to the Randall’s Good
Neighbor Program. Our number is 11828 and once the card is
linked, the FOL will get a percentage of the purchase.
Kathy noticed our March statement did not reflect any revenue. She will
check on this.
f.
Star Hill Ranch is having their Spring Fest on April 27. The Bee
Cave Library will have a table.
