The meeting was called to order at 1:35 by president, Kathy Albert. Kathy Albert, Elena Reid, Dyan Emerson, Laurie Del Genio, Barbara Hathaway, and Sandra Johnson were in attendance.
February minutes were read by vice president, Elena Reid, and approved by the group with no revisions. Francis was unavailable to attend, so Kathy read the treasurer’s report. This year, we have had expenses for the web site, for business cards, and for a rubber stamp. The genealogy workshop paid for itself with about $80 surplus. We did have donated goods from Starbucks and printing from the library.
New Business focused on upcoming library support of Earth Day. Laurie Del Genio solicited donations from Office Max and has recycled craft projects we can do with children in front of the library on Saturday, 26th from 2-4pm. Dyan Emerson will see if the Girl Scouts will consider manning the tables. It was suggested that we approach Lowes to see if they want to donate soil and seeds and have a planting station, so kids can take home something to grow. We’ll work online to further the details on this event and work on it at the next Friends’ meeting.
Barbara Hathaway and Kathy Albert talked about Lake Travis Reads and encouraged the Friends group to continue supporting it.
Barbara gave her director’s report which included an overview of Seuss on the Loose which was very well attended. The building is still undergoing repairs, so it would be unwise to focus on artwork for the walls at this time.
Meeting was adjourned at approximately 1:30pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Kathy Albert
